There was a blast from the past on Coronation Street on Wednesday night, and it led to confessions and bombshells.

Lauren Bolton was horrified to receive a mystery package at the hospital with something sent for her baby son Frankie. As she opened it she read a note, and her face dropped.

As the nurse asked if she was okay she claimed all was fine, and that she needed to pop out quickly. It was clear from her face she was rattled, and soon she came face-to-face with a past character.

We saw Lauren heading to the prison where she visited her villainous father Reece Bolton. We last saw Reece briefly a year ago, while Lauren was last seen visiting him in 2023.

After a year offscreen, and years on from the far-right extremist’s arrest for his involvement in terrorism offences, he made contact with Lauren with an apparent gift for his grandson Frankie. Lauren was clearly rattled to see her dad again, and soon she was sharing sad details about her childhood and their past.

Reece began taunting Lauren after he realised she wanted nothing to do with him. He’d gifted a toy to Frankie, only for Lauren to give it to charity.

She made it clear she would never allow him to be a part of her or Frankie’s life, and as she walked out on him she made it clear there were no feelings there and she would never see him again. But just prior to this there were some big bombshells and discoveries in the scenes that revealed the truth about the past.

Lauren sadly confronted her dad about being “pimped out” to his pals when she was just 11 years old. She didn’t go into detail but said justice had been served now that he was locked up.

He didn’t take it seriously though and apologised if his friends got “handsy” before laughing. Lauren hinted she didn’t have the best upbringing, with her parents not giving her a loving home and making her feel safe.

It’s then that Reece dropped another confession, claiming he was not her real father. Taunting Lauren, clearly bitter about her reaction to him, he claimed Lauren’s mother had told him he likely wasn’t her biological father.

He said: “You know I’m probably not your dad. We never bothered with a DNA test and that.” Lauren hit back though, telling him: “That’ll make my day that!”

Reece then commented on who her real dad likely was, as Lauren’s mother apparently claimed it was a “Shakin’ Stevens lookalike” from the fair. She told him she should track him down to “rinse him”.

But Lauren made it clear she was not interested in her real dad or Reece, and she was happy with the family she was building on the cobbles. Smirking, she turned to him and said: “Bye Reece. You’ve got no idea what you’ve missed out on.”
