The former footballer took to his Instagram to post the never before seen video of David for his birthday
Gary Neville shared with his followers a “behind the scenes” video of David Beckham as he offered a glimpse into how the former footballer really is.
David celebrated his 50th birthday in style with family over the May bank holiday weekend as he posted snaps of his new milestone.
He originally signed for Manchester United as a trainee in 1991 before signing as a professional player on 23rd January 1993.
It wasn’t until 1996 that the star had his “breakout moment” when he played for Manchester United in a match against Wimbledon and scored a goal from the halfway line.
The star previously shared this that moment “changed my life” as his career skyrocketed from there.
He enjoyed a glittering career at Old Trafford, particularly with the team having a treble-win during 1998-99, when they scooped the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
David became just the fifth player to earn 100 England caps when he featured against France in Paris in 2008, but stopped playing internationally in 2009.
He then retired in 2013 at 38-years-old after winning a title with Paris Saint Germain after 21 years of playing the beloved sport.
Gary Neville paid tribute to his friend and former teammate, as he took to his own Instagram and wrote: “Happy 50th mate. You’re the best! Stand still today for once and reflect on everything you have achieved and done in these first 50 years of your life.
“We’ve won, lost, laughed and cried but had the most incredible times together. I can still see our mums and dads in the crowd. Everything you’ve done has come through humility, care and hard work.”
He added: “I’m proud of you and more importantly trust you with my life. All my love to you”.
As he continued to celebrate David, he posted a never before seen video of David giving a speech at Gary’s 50th party a few months prior.
In the caption he wrote: “So this really is a behind-the-scenes view of what David is! My 50th was a few months ago and it was a no mobile phone do. However, I’m glad that one of my friends had the foresight to capture it. He did this off the cuff and meant a lot but most of all today it tells you what he is about.”
“Emma honestly, to have pulled this off and to have done this for Gary it’s such an important moment. On behalf of all of us we all want to say thank you for bringing us all together because moments like this are important.
“We’re all here because we love you, it’s as simple as that… We’re all here for you and I think it’s important that we recognise that.”
“…He does everything for everyone, he does too much for everyone… Gaz, I’ve gone on far too long but it’s important to say what we’re saying here tonight… You always gave and gave and gave, and you always said you wasn’t always the most talented player on the pitch but you were the hardest working.
“For me, you were the most talented player on the pitch because you supported me in a way that I needed. Tonight and the last two days are about you and you’ve made it special for all of us and on behalf of all of us we just want to say happy birthday and we love you.”
