The Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has ordered an urgent investigation into the electrical substation fire which shut London’s Heathrow Airport down for almost an entire day.

Mr Miliband said he wanted to learn the lessons for energy resilience – and prevent anything like it happening again.

Flights in and out of Heathrow finally resumed late on Friday evening, but airlines said there was likely to be a “huge impact” on passengers for days.
